Deana Oswald

Always warm, always smiling, Deana brings the sunshine into our school, even on cloudy days. She is beloved by both children and teachers. Although she has a long background in Theatre and Arts, she also has a strong love for early childhood education.


She began her teaching career at St. Andrews Cooperative Nursery School and obtained her certification as a pre-school teacher while teaching there. In the fall of 2022 she joined the Children’s Workshop where she specializes in early literacy with the children as well as supporting the lead teachers. Deana also leads the Monday afternoon Music and Drama class.


Deana has a BA in Theatre from Plymouth State University. She also holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Theater Management from Wayne State University. During her time at WSU she studied abroad at the Moscow Art Theater in Russia. Upon graduating she spent many years working for the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra. While she has a long background in Theatre and Arts Management she has a strong love for Early Childhood Education.

Deana lives in Marblehead with her husband, three sons and their dog Lucy. She loves listening to music, watching old movies, the ocean and spending time with her family and friends.
