Afternoon Enrichment Classes

Afternoons at The Children’s Workshop are very special times designed to give the children the experience of a longer day in a smaller group setting. Children bring their lunches and eat together with the teachers in cheerful, unhurried camaraderie. Good manners are modeled and proper nutrition is encouraged. The afternoons run from 12:00-2:00 with an optional extension of 2:00-4:00. Each afternoon includes a lesson as well as time to relax and play.

On Mondays we offer Music and Movement class allowing students to express themselves through music, on Tuesdays we offer Odyssey of the Mind where students explore problem solving through creative thinking, on Wednesdays the students learn beginning Spanish through conversation, songs and poems, and Thursday is our Art Through Literature class where a favorite picture book is read and then interpreted through a crafts project.

Musical Drama

Monday afternoons find our students immersed in the world of music and drama.

Odyssey Of The Mind

Tuesday afternoon class is devoted to activities that encourage students to take risks while problem solving. This program was created by Dr. Samuel Micklus at Rowan University to encourage his students to take risks while problem solving and has since been adapted to children at all grade levels.

Advanced Spanish

On Wednesday afternoons, students pursue fluency through conversation.
