Dara VanRemoortel

Dara was born and raised in Marblehead in a household full of music and singing. She started piano lessons at age 7, in the house where she now lives! She graduated from the University of Maine with a degree in elementary education, specializing in music, and has continued her education through courses, workshops, seminars, and retreats centering in early childhood music and piano.  

For over 30 years, Dara has been presenting music programs at preschools, libraries, birthday parties, and more on the greater North Shore. She has also facilitated teacher workshops on music in the early childhood classroom.  

Dara strives to present music programs that are joyful and educational, packed with singing familiar and new songs, rhythmic activities, creative expression, and simple instrument playing. Through these songs and activities, children are introduced to basic elements of music such as beat, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, and pitch. 

Dara lives in Marblehead with her husband Chris, and has two grown daughters. She considers herself very fortunate to have found a career she loves so passionately!
