Jill Vizcaino

Jill joined The Children’s Workshop in the fall of 2011. She is a passionate and dedicated teacher who inspires love and loyalty in her students. Jill brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to her role as the kindergarten leader. She never fails to encourage and support her students in their journey toward literacy by strengthening their self-confidence. Her motto, “The most important person who needs to be proud of you is yourself,” is one that the children take on as their own. Jill’s mantra of “Kindness First” is one that she communicates to her students every single day.

Jill holds a Master’s degree in Special Ed from Lesley University and a Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice from Salve Regina University. Jill began her career in education in 2006 when she held the position of 1:1 tutor in the Marblehead Public Schools. She subsequently began her Montessori education at the Northeast Montessori Institute while interning at the Notre Dame Montessori School in Wenham. Following graduation, Jill accepted the position of Lead Teacher at the East Boston Montessori School. She has been a lead teacher at our school for 13 years and Director for 2 years.

Jill loves working with people and giving back to the community. As a teenager, Jill was a City Of Boston Young Heroes/City Year Corps member volunteering on the weekends with other teens from all over the city. In high school, she won the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Award and took part in a once in a lifetime trip to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji with 100 other recipients from all around the country.

Jill lives in Nahant, Massachusetts. She enjoys reading, going for long runs and walks by the ocean with her dog, listening to music and learning new fun facts to teach her students.
