Nurturing the Mathematical Mind

Our kids love math. It’s not surprising considering the wealth of beautiful and attractive materials that invite them to perform and repeat appealing activities aimed at developing their mathematical minds.

The 3-6 year old child is in a unique frame of mind for the development of the mathematical and reasoning capabilities. A systematic program of carefully developed and presented sequential math activities, (number concept and recognition, linear counting, decimal system introduction, preparation for addition, multiplication, subtraction and division, operations of the 4 processes, and the passage to abstraction) is essential to laying down a foundation of true understanding of the mathematical principles.

Children who have been taught in this way, using concrete materials, have a true understanding of the logic and meaning of math.
