This year, Mexico!

 

Each year we travel in our imaginations to a different country. This year the school was transformed into a Mexican village ready for a fiesta. Through the making of crafts, sampling of foods, learning of Mexican songs and dances, telling of stories, visual explorations, picture books and maps, and biographies of famous Mexicans, the children were prepared for the big finale, the fiesta at the Restaurante Frida.

 

 

They danced and played La Loteria before going arm in arm into the Restaurante. Our third year students presented the menus and the children chose their selections from a wide variety of entrees, drinks and desserts, in Spanish, of course. Ole!

 

Other countries covered through the years have included: Australia, Korea, China, England, Scotland, Italy, France, Africa and Turkey.
